Are these receipts legally binding? +
FlipSlip receipts are not legal contracts, and we're not lawyers — please don't treat them as such. They are timestamped, archived records of a transaction that can serve as evidence in a dispute, platform report, or conversation with your accountant. Think of them like a handwritten bill of sale — widely used and widely accepted as documentation.
Does the buyer need to create an account? +
No. The buyer receives a text message with a link to their receipt. They don't need to sign up for anything. Only the seller needs an account.
Can I use this for eBay local pickup and Craigslist sales? +
Yes — FlipSlip works for any cash-in-person transaction regardless of which platform you used to find the buyer. Facebook Marketplace, eBay local pickup, Craigslist, OfferUp, Nextdoor, garage sales — all of it.
How does this help at tax time? +
Pro users can log their COGS (what they paid for each item) alongside the sale price. At year end, we generate a summary of total revenue, COGS, and net profit that you can hand directly to your accountant or use to fill out Schedule C. This is especially relevant now that 1099-K reporting has a $600 threshold.
When will this launch? +
We're currently building FlipSlip and using this waitlist to validate demand before launch. Everyone on the waitlist will get early access and a discount off the Pro plan at launch. We're targeting a beta launch within 6–8 weeks.
Is there a mobile app? +
The initial launch will be a mobile-optimized web app — no download required. It'll work on your phone's browser as well as any tablet or desktop. A native app may come later based on user feedback.
